Engineered for high-density fiber and copper cabling environments, the Panduit FiberRunner Vertical Tee delivers a clean, scalable, and accessible vertical drop from a main horizontal FiberRunner run. In bright yellow for immediate identification, this 90-degree tee integrates seamlessly into the FiberRunner family to provide reliable pathing, rapid installation, and robust protection for cables traveling between horizontal and vertical routes. The 4x4 opening accommodates multi-fiber bundles and larger diameter cables while maintaining a compact footprint that helps maximize rack space and floor-area efficiency. The hinged door included with the vertical tee gives technicians direct access to the vertical drop, enabling quick routing, meticulous cable management, and straightforward service without interrupting ongoing horizontal runs. Built to withstand demanding data center, telecommunications, and enterprise environments, the vertical tee blends a rugged exterior with a streamlined interior that reduces bend radius, protects against dust and contamination, and keeps cables organized as they transition from a horizontal trunk to vertical pathways. Whether you are expanding an existing FiberRunner system or designing a new network backbone, the Panduit Vertical Tee is designed to simplify installation, improve airflow, and support scalable growth over the life of your cabling infrastructure.

  • 90° vertical drop from a horizontal FiberRunner run with a hinged door for fast access: The Vertical Tee creates a clean, direct transition from a horizontal channel to a vertical pathway, making installation and maintenance straightforward and efficient. The hinged door provides quick entry to routing areas, allowing technicians to insert, rearrange, or replace cables without removing the entire assembly. This feature minimizes downtime and reduces the risk of accidental damage to cables during service calls.
  • Generous 4x4 opening for fiber bundles and larger cable counts: The 4x4 opening is designed to accommodate multi-fiber, copper, and hybrid cabling configurations within a compact footprint. This ample access is ideal for data centers and telecom rooms where cable density is high and routing options must remain flexible. The broad aperture also helps maintain bend radii and reduces the likelihood of kinking or signal degradation as cables transition from horizontal to vertical sections.
  • High-visibility yellow color for rapid identification and safer work environments: The bright yellow finish enhances visibility in crowded racks and cable trays, helping technicians quickly locate vertical drops and prioritize routing paths. Color-coding cables and pathways is a proven best practice in data centers, improving workflow efficiency, reducing human error, and streamlining maintenance windows.
  • Seamless compatibility with the FiberRunner system: This vertical tee is engineered to align seamlessly with Panduit FiberRunner channels, supports consistent fit and finish, and promotes modularity as your cabling needs evolve. The design supports reliable attachment to existing horizontal runs, creating a cohesive and scalable cable management solution for growing networks without needing to rework established pathways.
  • Durable construction that protects cables while optimizing airflow and organization: The Vertical Tee provides an enclosure-like transition that guards cables from dust and incidental contact while maintaining an unobstructed path for airflow around the cabinet or rack area. A tidy, protected exit from the horizontal run reduces clutter, enhances cooling efficiency, and makes routine inspections simpler, contributing to overall network reliability.

How to install Panduit FiberRunner® Vertical Tee

  • Plan the run and determine the best vertical drop location: Assess your horizontal FiberRunner layout, identify where the vertical drop is needed, and confirm clearance above and below for the 90° transition. Consider future expansion and accessibility for maintenance when selecting the mounting surface and anchoring points. A well-planned route minimizes bending and maximizes airflow, two critical factors in maintaining signal integrity and cool operation within data centers.
  • Prepare the horizontal channel: If you are integrating the Vertical Tee into an existing FiberRunner run, ensure the horizontal channel is clean, aligned, and properly supported. Verify that the panel or tray where the tee will connect is level and that the connector points are free of debris. If mounting on a new rack or wall, install the horizontal run first, then position the Vertical Tee at the intended 90° junction point.
  • Open the hinged door and align with the horizontal channel: Gently open the vertical tee’s hinged door to access the interior entry path. Align the 4x4 opening with the corresponding vertical path on the existing FiberRunner run. Ensure that the opening sits flush with minimal gaps to prevent dust ingress and to provide stable cable support as the cables transition from horizontal to vertical directions.
  • Secure the vertical tee to the FiberRunner system: Attach the vertical tee to the horizontal FiberRunner run using the recommended fasteners and hardware specified by Panduit for your system. Carefully tighten to the manufacturer’s torque specifications to avoid deformation of the housing or misalignment of the entry points. Confirm that the hinged door remains operable after attachment and that there is no undue pressure on the cables at the transition point.
  • Route cables and close the door: With the vertical tee securely installed, begin guiding cables from the horizontal run through the 4x4 opening into the vertical drop. Maintain proper bend radii and orderly cable bundles using tie wraps or cable management accessories recommended for FiberRunner installations. Once cables are in place, close the hinged door to protect the cables from dust and accidental contact. Perform a final check to ensure cables have adequate slack and no kinks or sharp bends are present, then re-check the system for stability and airflow around the junction.

Simplistic and Inappropriate
Format: Paperback
I was hoping this book would provide insights into how to present complex information in a more comprehensible, useful format, using PowerPoint as the tool. Instead, the overall gist of this book is that presentations should be "dumbed down" as much as possible. The theme the author presents is that presentations should be story based. This is reasonable. However, the method the author recommends is that essentially *all* meaningful, complex (or, as the author prefers "boring") content be removed from the presentation. Presentations then become nothing more than catchy headlines and colorful graphics. All content should be in the presenter's notes (not typically to be provided). This is juvenile and useless and frankly reflects a complete lack of understanding of how presentations are made in a complex business environment.

On the right track
Format: Paperback
This book is a good introduction about how to use story-telling techniques in PowerPoint presentations. There are some good ideas here that you won't find in technical manuals. If you don't know film techniques these will be eye-opening. But the book could have been much stronger if it were to push these concepts to the next level. I saw a PowerPoint presentation with Andy Goodman, who teaches more or less the same thing, and his presentation nailed these concepts more cleanly than this book does. But again, this book is definitely worth checking out if you haven't studied storytelling before.

An Essential
Format: Paperback
I've created PowerPoints for executives in major corporations and national non-profits for years now, and this is one of the first books I suggest anyone who needs to create their own PowerPoint look to. Beyond Bullet points is accessable enough that the novice PowerPoint user can understand what's going on and use the lessons in his or her next presentation; it's also detailed and challenging enough that even an old salt like me can find things to learn and do. Don't be another person who stands on stage reading their PowerPoint, and don't let reading your slides distract the audience from your presentation; follow the suggestions in this book and wow your audience.
