The Brooklyn Blackout cake (originating from- you guessed it: Brooklyn) is a moist, fluffy, and tender three-layer-chocolate cake separated by a melty, creamy, INSANELY chocolatey filling. Soft cake crumbs coat the outside of this cake to assist in enclosing a fantastic explosion of chocolate flavour. Truly the ultimate two-pound chocolate cake. Gorgeous. Delicious. Some History: This divine treat was allegedly created by the Brooklyn based bakery chain named Ebinger's as recognition to the mandatory blackouts in during World War II to protect the Brooklyn navy yard.
