Description:
Cortec® VpCI®-422 removes rust and tarnish from steel, iron, copper and brass without creating waste disposal difficulties. When used as recommended, VpCI®-422 will not adversely affect most paints, plastics, wood, textiles, ceramics or rubber. It contains flash corrosion inhibitors to prevent flash rust during the rust removal process. VpCI®-422 is NSF A3 registered, acceptable for use in and around food processing areas for indirect food contact.

How to Use:
Cortec® VpCI®-422 can be applied using conventional or airless spray equipment, by brush or dip. Remove loose or flaking rust and then apply VpCI®-422 to the surface. Let the product stand for 10-15 minutes and rinse with Cortec® VpCI®-414 or similar alkaline cleaner to ensure a clean, rust free metal surface. Retreat as necessary (heavy rust may take more than one treatment). Increasing temperature up to 150ºF and/or agitation will speed the cleaning process.

Typical Applications:
Use for in-process rust removal for parts and metal stock. Applications include automotive, marine and manufacturing equipment. Use to remove rust on trucks, cars, fences, railings, walls, tools, locks and rust-frozen parts.
