Originally created as a vintage pin, the closed back piece was thoughtfully transformed by our jeweler by removing the original pin findings and adding a 14k gold bail, allowing it to be worn comfortably as a pendant while preserving its period character and proportions. The warm tone of the gold setting provides an elegant contrast to the opal’s iridescence, resulting in a design that feels both refined and timeless.
The pendant measures approximately 1.2 inches from the top of the bail to the bottom by 0.5 inches wide and weighs 2.42 grams, offering a graceful scale suitable for everyday wear or layering. The gold has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and confirmed with traditional jeweler’s acid testing, authenticating its 9ct composition.
