HPE 6400 12-Port 40/100GbE QSFP28 v2 Extended Tables Module

The HPE 6400 12-port 40/100GbE QSFP28 v2 Extended Tables Module is a high-density expansion designed for data networking environments that demand scalable, ultra-fast connectivity. Built for the HPE 6400 switch family, this module delivers robust performance for 40G and 100G Ethernet deployments, enabling seamless interconnects across optical networks and fiber-based infrastructures. The v2 Extended Tables capability is engineered to optimize forwarding tables in large-scale networks, helping to maintain low latency and predictable performance as traffic grows. With 12 QSFP28 ports, it supports both 40GBASE-X and 100GBASE-X interfaces, offering a clear upgrade path from legacy 10/40G ecosystems to modern 100G cores. This makes it an ideal solution for data centers, cloud environments, multi-tenant colocation facilities, and enterprise backbones where bandwidth, reliability, and efficient management are non-negotiable. The module’s design emphasizes reliability, compatibility, and operational efficiency, enabling network operators to scale without sacrificing control or simplicity. If you’re aiming to optimize network throughput while managing sophisticated routing and switching tables, the HPE 6400 extension module provides the essential capabilities to meet contemporary performance requirements.

  • High-density 12-port QSFP28: Each port supports 40GBASE-X and 100GBASE-X, delivering flexible uplink and inter-switch connectivity to support growing data center traffic without increasing rack space.
  • Extended Tables v2 technology: Optimizes forwarding and routing table handling to improve performance in large-scale networks, reducing lookup latency and enabling efficient scale-out deployments.
  • Designed for HPE 6400 series: Engineered for seamless integration with the HPE 6400 family, ensuring reliable operation, streamlined management, and compatibility with existing network policies.
  • Optical networking readiness: Tailored for fiber-based infrastructures, enabling high-speed data transmission over optical links and supporting diverse data center topologies.
  • Installation and maintenance efficiency: Built for straightforward integration into compatible chassis, with design considerations that support smooth upgrades and minimal downtime during deployment and replacement.

How to install HPE 6400 12-port 40/100GbE QSFP28 v2 Extended Tables Module

Installing the HPE 6400 expansion module is a straightforward process when performed with standard data center procedures and proper safety practices. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth deployment and minimal disruption to active services. Before you begin, confirm compatibility with your specific HPE 6400 model and review firmware requirements or interconnect policies that govern high-speed expansions in your environment. Prepare the workspace with anti-static precautions, and make sure you have the appropriate fiber cabling and connectors for 40GBASE-X and 100GBASE-X configurations. Power down the chassis only if required by your organization’s maintenance policy or if hot-swapping is not supported for your hardware; otherwise schedule a maintenance window to perform the swap in a controlled manner. Remove any existing module or filler panel from the target slot, inspect the slot for dust or foreign material, and verify that the module’s connectors are clean and undamaged. Align the module with the slot, gently insert it until it seats securely, and engage any latching mechanism or screws to secure the unit in place. After seating, reconnect any fiber cables to the QSFP28 ports, ensuring that the correct fiber type and connector orientation are used. Power up the device (or allow the system to come online if it was in maintenance mode) and verify that the module is recognized by the switch. Use the management interface or CLI to confirm port status, link up, and appropriate speed negotiation (40G or 100G) for each port. Finally, perform a basic traffic test to validate throughput and monitor for any errors or CRC issues. If performance metrics do not align with expectations, review transceiver compatibility, fiber cabling, and switch configuration, including routing and QoS settings, to optimize performance and stability.

Run small, size it up
Color: Mushroom, Size: 32W x 30L, Color: Mushroom, Size: 32W x 30L
They go small, Im 5'8", 165lbs, usually 32x30 fits just rigth in most brands Levis, Izod, whatever, can't even close the zipper on this one, my dingus prints in the front if I manage to close it, I will try a 34 or even 36, if you want one, size it up. Length is right. Anyway, the pant is good, sturdy looking material, is not soft but nothing uncomfortable probably gets right after break it in, reinforced stitches on pockets. I think they would work great for a technician, salesman or an engineer, those jobs where you have to look like a human being with a polo shirt but sometimes needs to do something without ripping your pants while crouching or for daily abuse of the regular Joe, will try another that fits

Good, but size up!
Color: Black, Size: 30W x 29L
These are exactly what I wanted, but as many have stated, you need to size up. I found that going up two sizes (from my usual 28 to a 30) made for a great fit. I love that they come in a 29 length. One anything point is they came with creases in them from being folded in the package for a length of time. I had to steam and press them before wearing. I’ll likely buy them in other colors.

order 3 or 4 inches up than your usual waist, run very small in waist
Color: Charcoal, Size: 33W x 30L
arrived with dirt on the bottom legs but amazon helped with that. anyway I weigh 115 lbs and am 5'8 and I am a woman. I know that Dickies these days run super small for their size, so it sounds insane but order up 4 inches than your normal waist size, then run small in the waist and they will shrink a size with a few washings. I ordered a 33 waist and they did shrink probably a size in one wash lol! they are still a bit loose in the waist but not big and I know with a couple more washings they will be just right. I do not like anything skinny fit or with no give. but yah, I love the charcoal gray color, one of my favorite colors, much cooler than plain black. I normally enjoy the Dickies shorts but with these forty something degree afternoons these are my new go tos. I am not a jeans person and I sure as hell with not be wearing pajama pants out in public like these dang younger adults lately.
