Description:
A rare 1982 Epiphone USA Spirit double cut Les Paul Junior style built at Gibson's Kalamazoo, MI factory.
This one is overall in great shape showing some normal playwear (surface marks, dings, etc.) No major damage of any sort. frets show some light wear but have no issues with buzzing or dead spots and still have plenty of life in them. Hardware is in suprisingly good shape for its age. All original with the exception of the original Tim Shaw humbucker pickup being replaced with a double cream hand-wound Manilus Pickups HotRod '59 PAF. Built by hand in Syracuse NY, the Hot Rod 59 features classic Manlius design elements, including hand scatter-winding, american sourced magnets, vintage steel alloy parts, universal depth base-plate legs, maple spacers, and light wax potting for consistent performance. This thing plays incredibly well and was built right along side the Gibsons at the time it was made. Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes Non-original hard case

- Body & Design: It features a double-cutaway solid body, heavily inspired by the Gibson Les Paul Junior or Special. Construction typically consists of a poplar or maple body, often topped with a bound figured maple cap on higher-end versions.
- Neck: A 3-piece set maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. It uses a 24.75" scale length, but notably, the cutaways meet the neck at the 20th fret rather than the 22nd, differentiating it from standard Les Pauls.
-
Pickups: Original models typically came with a Gibson "Tim Shaw" humbucker.
- Spirit I: Single bridge humbucker with a black pickguard.
- Headstock: Features a silk-screened gold "Epiphone USA" logo and a truss rod cover engraved with "Spirit"
