HPE SN6620C 32Gb 48/24 32Gb Short Wave SFP+ Fibre Channel v2 Switch

The HPE SN6620C 32Gb 48/24 Fibre Channel switch is engineered to power modern data centers with high-speed, low-latency SAN connectivity. This 32Gb Short Wave SFP+ solution is purpose-built for all-flash storage environments, delivering deterministic performance across every FC port and enabling enterprise-scale fabrics that support growth, virtualization, and compute-intensive workloads. As part of HPE’s C-series family, the SN6620C combines dense port capacity, robust fabric services, and streamlined management to reduce complexity while boosting throughput. Whether you’re expanding an existing SAN or designing a new all-flash architecture, the SN6620C is crafted to maximize the potential of your storage investments by ensuring rapid data movement, reliable path protection, and scalable growth. In today’s data-rich landscape, where every millisecond of latency matters, this switch provides the backbone for high-performance storage networks, translating into faster backups, quicker VM migrations, and shorter application response times. With a total aggregate bandwidth of up to 1536 Gbps, the SN6620C handles the demands of modern workloads, large-scale virtualization, and data-intensive analytics without compromising on predictability or reliability. The inclusion of 32Gb Short Wave SFP+ ports further enhances flexibility, enabling longer reach and simplified cabling in complex data-center layouts. This combination of speed, scale, and resilience makes the SN6620C an essential component for organizations pursuing aggressive data-center modernization and 24x7 uptime. The switch is designed to integrate seamlessly into storage fabrics that require consistent per-port performance, a critical factor when consolidating workloads on all-flash arrays, centralizing data services, and delivering rapid access to critical business data.

  • High-speed 32 Gbps per port for consistent, low-latency Fibre Channel performance across the entire switch fabric, ensuring predictable I/O and stable response times even under heavy peak loads.
  • Dense port configuration featuring 48 Fibre Channel ports and 24 32Gb Short-Wave SFP+ uplinks, enabling scalable SAN fabrics that grow with your data demands.
  • Substantial aggregate bandwidth up to 1536 Gbps, empowering rapid data movement, faster backups, and accelerated data-intensive workloads such as virtualization and analytics.
  • Optimized for all-flash arrays with a design that unlocks the full potential of flash storage, delivering the throughput and low latency required by modern enterprise applications.
  • Enterprise-grade reliability and fabric services designed for 24x7 operation, including robust path management, simplified zoning, and scalable fabric provisioning to reduce downtime and administrative overhead.

how to install HPE SN6620C

  1. Plan your fabric: Assess current and projected storage workloads to determine how 48 FC ports and 24 32Gb SFP+ uplinks will fit into your SAN topology, including zoning and path optimization requirements.
  2. Prepare the rack and power: Install the SN6620C in a suitable rack location with adequate cooling and power supply, ensuring the device is accessible for cabling and maintenance. Verify redundant power options if available in your deployment.
  3. Connect the fabric: Cable 32Gb Short Wave SFP+ ports to target storage arrays, switch peers, and fabric nodes according to your zoning map. Maintain clean cabling practices to minimize interference and maximize airflow.
  4. Initial boot and health check: Power on the switch and verify LED indicators, system health, and basic connectivity to fabric members. Ensure firmware is up to date or plan a non-disruptive upgrade if needed.
  5. Configure fabric and zoning: Use the CLI or a GUI-based management tool to configure fabric parameters, UCS-like zoning policies, and security controls. Establish switch-fabric parameters, set up VFCs (virtual fabric components) if supported, and implement basic fabric services.
  6. Validate performance and redundancy: Run SAN traffic tests, confirm path failover behavior, and verify that all paths are reachable under load. Monitor latency and throughput to ensure the switch meets service-level objectives.
  7. Document and monitor: Save configuration snapshots, document cabling diagrams and zoning maps, and enable ongoing monitoring with alert thresholds for bandwidth, errors, and red flags in the fabric.

Great quality tux for the price
Color: White, Size: XX-Large, Color: White, Size: XX-Large
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and fit right out of the package. The cloth has a subtle pattern that gives it an upscale look without being flashy, and overall it feels far nicer than I expected at this price. Jacket: The jacket has a good weight and thickness, so it feels solid and well-made. Sleeve length was perfect right out of the box, which almost never happens for me. The only fit issue was a bit of snugness in the chest and underarm area, but I have broad shoulders and a larger chest, so that’s not unusual. My dress shirt sleeve length is 36.5", so I went with an XXL instead of my usual XL to make sure the sleeves were long enough. That was the right call, because it’s always easier for a tailor to size something down than to try and make something too small work. Aside from a quick tweak in the chest, this could easily be worn straight out of the package. Pants: The pants are noticeably thinner than the jacket and you can kind of see through them, so you’ll want to be mindful when choosing undergarments. That said, the lighter fabric is actually a plus for summer outdoor events or warm indoor venues since it will help keep you cool and comfortable. The flexible waistband made them very comfortable, and the fit in both the waist and length was spot on. For reference, I usually wear 38x32 dress pants and these matched perfectly. Overall: The quality is excellent for the cost. Even with a minor tailoring bill, my total cost to own this tux will still be less than renting one for a single event. I couldn’t be happier with the purchase and wouldn’t hesitate to pick up another.

brings me to today’s formal fashion
Color: Brown, Size: X-Large
the peak lapel made me feel sharp for the big family dinner. the slim fit worried me, but it was surprisingly comfy, not too tight on my retired belly. the pockets are deep, which is great for my reading glasses case. didn't need much ironing, just hung it up. a solid, non-fussy suit for us old guys.

Works for Dress-Up, Not for Formal Events
Color: Brown, Size: Medium, Color: Brown, Size: Medium
This brown tuxedo is about what you’d expect for under $100 on Amazon. The fabric has a pretty brocade pattern but it’s very thin and floppy. The jacket is lined, which helps give it some structure and makes it look a lot nicer, but the pants don’t lay well since they’re unlined and lack structure. The brown color is actually really nice—rich without looking too chocolately, almost leaning burgundy. That said, the fit on both the jacket and pants is surprisingly good. Overall, this is a fun tux for a costume party or one-off dress-up event, but not something you’d want to rely on for a wedding or a truly formal occasion. Just keep your expectations aligned with the price.

A true beauty
Color: Red, Size: Large
This tuxedo set is so beautiful. The red is extremely striking and is sure to grab everyone's attention. I ordered a size L, as I am on the cusp of Medium and Large. The pants fit very well, and they have some adjustment points around the waist in case they need to be let out a little more. Also, in the waist band is some elastic portions, which make finding the perfect fit something you won't have to think much about.--- they will stretch with you. The jacket feels like it is custom fitted by a tailor. The quality of this tuxedo, considering the price point, is exceptional.
