Hydration Mechanism:
When calcium silicate mixes with H2O(water), it produces a calcium alumino silicate(C-A-H GEL) and Calcium silicate hydrate(C-S-H GEL). The high pH (pH 13.2) can eliminate the bacteria present in root canal.
Physical Properties:
Setting time is 30 min, according to ISO 6876:2012 (100% humidity condition), but it is around 2.5 hours in a normal root canal.
