ECS Tuning MK7.5 Golf R Functional Aerodynamic Rear Diffuser Kit

The ECS Tuning MK7.5 Golf R Aerodynamic Diffuser combines function, form and aesthetics to provide an increase in downforce without the additional drag created by a wing. To design our ECS Aero diffuser we started by 3D scanning our shop MK7 GTI. Then a 3D model of the full car was created in CAD utilizing our scan data. To further develop and tune our diffuser we utilized CFD analysis to find the best possible balance between downforce and drag, while minimizing flow separation. This results in more consistent diffuser performance across a wide range of conditions, ride heights and suspension setups.

Meticulously designed to provide bolt on fitment, requiring no permanent modifications to your vehicle when combined with our ECS Tuning Exhaust.

Pair this diffuser with our Fuel Tank Street Shield Skid Plate to improve efficiency (ES#4477688), or utilize our Ultimate Street Shield Kit to maximize efficiency (ES#4485268).

PART DESIGN:

• This Diffuser is in-house designed and engineered to provide functional aerodynamic benefits, specific to the MK7.5 Golf R body, using FARO ARM laser scanning technology and SolidWorks 3D CAD modelling for precision fitment along with CFD to provide the best balance between downforce while minimizing drag.
• Made from lightweight, vacuum formed UV-stabilized gloss black ABS polymer
• Mounting brackets are made from 5052 aluminium powder coated wrinkle black
• 4" Stainless Steel Turndown Tips 
• Developed and fine tuned using CFD with our in house MK7 GTI 3D model
• Mounts to the chassis for secure fitment 
• Designed to work perfectly with our ECS Tuning Exhaust System - Tips must be removed

• 4x 4" Stainless Steel Turndown Tips 
• 2" X 50ft Exhaust Wrap
• 2x Rear Subframe Bolts 
• All necessary mounting brackets and hardware

PERFORMANCE FEATURES

• Assists with rear tire contact by applying downforce over the rear axle. This is very beneficial on FWD vehicles where rear traction loss may occur at high speed cornering. 
• Performance data metrics are collected utilizing CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software to validate our design 
  • Simulation shown in the product photos represents airflow with the vehicle traveling at 120mph

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:

• Our ECS Functional Aerodynamic Rear Diffuser Kit was designed, engineered, tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modelling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing.

INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT:

• If used with a non ECS exhaust, your existing exhaust tips must be removed and the tail pipes must be aligned with diffuser turndown (Turndown tips & brackets are included in this kit)

• 4 x of an exhaust bracket spacer (ES#2771643) may help align the exhaust in the diffuser
