As you might have seen via our social media pages, Iris was recommended by her teacher for a sweet and awesome nerd, I mean, "academically-minded," camp this summer! 🥰 Being the awesome little nerd, I mean, academically-minded child that she is, she applied and was accepted into the program she wanted! Hurrah! 😁 Unfortunately for us, the camp is expensive! 😅 We decided that in order for Critter to be able to attend, we would have to child labor this baby over the financial finish line. 😬😆 Unfortunately (again), after working on a single Cookie Buddy (Chip! 🥰), Iris realized she actually hated sewing and would rather miss out on the camp than have to sew fourteen more Cookie Buddies. 😬🤣🤣🤣 As her mother and the owner of a business that sews all of its products, this was a bit disheartening, but mostly kind of hilarious. 🤣 Unfortunately (yet again!), by the time Critter gave up on the Cookie Buddy enterprise and it was decided that they would become Mom's problem (and, by extension, my Mom's (Iris's Nammy's) problem 🤣), we found out that we only had a few days to pay the remainder of her tuition (I really need to figure out how to stay caught up on my emails...🤦). Yay! 😅😭 We were able to scrounge up the needed funds to get it paid in time, but we couldn't get the Cookie Buddies finished and sold before the deadline. So! All of this is to explain why we're having her fundraiser after the fact. Hurrah! 😆 Iris will be making other wonderful things to contribute to the shop over the course of the summer, so I don't feel too bad about totally caving and finishing her cookies so that she can attend nerd camp. 🥰

While deciding how we would accomplish our Cookie Buddy project, I asked Critter if she had any particular designs in mind. The only things she wanted specifically were a few Emo Cookie Buddies. So here we are! 😁🤣 This particular little sweetheart is a Sugar Emo Cookie Buddy! They have one visible eye and one non-existent eye that could be imagined to exist under their swoop of angstily black hair, styled in the most Emo of styles. 😁 My initial plan was not to include arms and legs, but I decided that we should give them some hilarious dangly legs like our Heart Monsters. When I told Mom this, she demanded that all the Cookie Buddies be given "music note legs." Which is why they all have lovely little roundy feet sticking out from their super skinny leggies. 🥰 Pink Sugar Emo Cookie Buddy is made from super soft, short-pile light pink Beaver faux fur with a shaggy Poe swoop, one large black safety eye, four skinny black minky appendages, about half a pound of glass weighting beads, and some polyester floof. They also feature a blue star button below their eye, and a special tag that reads "Critter's Camp Fundraiser, 2026" to commemorate our customers' contributions to Critter's educational summertime funsies. 🥰 This sweet little dude would love to come home to be your newest, bestest friend!
