MARKING 30 YEARS SINCE THE ICONIC SECOND ALBUM OF DEPRAVED ELECTRONIC MADNESS FROM THE US PIONEERS. PRESENTED ON LIMITED RED VINYL.

With a deep dive into the extreme underlying darkness & decay permeating society, GGFH (Global Genocide Forget Heaven) was a pioneering electronic/industrial act formed in Oakland, California in 1986 by enigmatic frontman, Ghost, who was later joined by Brian Walls to create some of the sickest music circulating at the time. GGFH amassed a true cult following during their existence, through both the disturbing content of their recordings, as well as their intense & twisted, notorious live shows.

Aside from a number of influential demos later released as the ‘Halloween’ compilation in 1994, GGFH recorded two full albums in the early 90’s which were released on Peaceville sub-label Dreamtime. Debut album ‘Eclipse’ surfaced in 1991, showcasing a truly dark & demented concoction of industrial elements, eerie atmospherics & strong electronic influences. The follow up album, ‘Disease’ was released in 1993 & was notable for pushing the boundaries of taste ever further with a creeping, sinister sense of foreboding throughout the nine tracks, featuring lyrics driven primarily by murder & serial killers as well as religion & all dark & corrupt aspects of life.

The last full release to date under the GGFH name was 2005’s ‘Serrated Smile’.

Though musically there are only scarce links to the genre, GGFH’s material was very inspirational & fully embraced among metal bands - & well received in the metal press also - with Dimmu Borgir even recently covering the track ‘DMDR (Dead Men Don’t Rape)’, showing GGFH’s lasting impact on many acts in the metal scene as well as beyond. Ghost himself had also appeared on My Dying Bride’s ‘I Am The Bloody Earth’ EP in the 1994 & GGFH notably shared the stage with a number of metal acts, touring with bands such as My Dying Bride & Fear Factory, demonstrating their crossover audience appeal.

Amid strong talk of a potential reunion between Ghost & Brian, this edition of ‘Disease’ marks 30 years since release & is presented on limited transparent red vinyl. Also includes inner sleeve, now with full printed lyrics.

Vader when he still is Anakin
Format: Paperback
This comic picks up right where Episode III left off. Like directly. There's the whole "Noooooooooo" thing and everything. I liked seeing Vader when he is new to being a Sith. It really is Anakin under there still. Throughout the comic, that Anakin begins to fall away. I liked the mix of prequel and original trilogy aesthetic. Seeing Vader alongside clone troopers was very cool. The Grand Inquisitor even makes a cameo! I read the Dark Horse comics that took place right after Order 66 so certain aspects of this comic remind me of those. In this comic, there are jedi who took the Barash Vow prior to the Purge, so they are still out and about in the galaxy. Vader takes this opportunity to take a lightsaber and make it bleed. I really enjoyed this first volume in a new, ongoing comic series. I am absolutely excited for volume two. I give this volume a 5/5.

The Lord Vader Treatment
Format: Kindle
Love this Darth perspective. It potentially fills in some gaps in the timeline in the beginning of his transition. Loved the humor and the art.

Wow!
Format: Kindle
I choose my rating because the art is so cool! Each frame brought a unique angle and showed the brilliance of color and texture! Also, I do have great memories of this movie. The surprise and fun it brought. Also Luke’s point of view was quite interesting. This was a remarkable read, however I skipped some parts more quickly than others. Enjoyed the story in this medium!

Whatever…
Format: Paperback
The worst in the series until they come out with a Rise of Skywalker one… heaven forbid! Still, decent art. Better than the actual movie. 😂

It is not so accurate.
Format: Paperback
Well, this is feedback by my son. My son loves Star Wars and I bought it for him and he read it almost immediately! I knew he would love it, and he did! He loved the artwork and the way the author drew the characters. But he didn’t like one thing. Here’s what my son said: I don’t like how they cut a lot of stuff out from the movie and made it short. They cut a lot of FN-2187s fight with phasma. And I don’t like how the author cut the battle on Crait very short! But, then again, the story was very accurate to the movie.” I know many people like Star Wars, but if your planning on buying this comic, I would think twice. It leaves out some pretty big parts of the movie.I think this deserved four stars.
