In unserem kollektiven Gedächtnis ist die Berliner Mauer ein Band aus Beton. 1966 aber bildeten Hausmauern, Zementplatten, Drahtzäune und Stacheldrahtverhaue die Grenze. Dieser frühen Berliner Mauer widmen sich der Fotograf Arwed Messmer und die Schriftstellerin Annett Gröschner in ihrem Langzeitprojekt. Ausgangsmaterial waren Fotografien, die von den DDR-Grenztruppen angefertigt wurden. In ihrem preisgekrönten Vorgängerband präsentierten die Autoren den innerstädtischen Mauerstreifen. 2012 stießen sie auf ein weiteres, ebenso umfangreiches Bildkonvolut. In der neuen zweibändigen Ausgabe zeigen sie nun mit rund 700 Panoramen aus 3000 Einzelbildern den gesamten Verlauf der Mauer um Westberlin. Ergänzt werden die Panoramen durch weiteres bearbeitetes Material aus dem Bundesarchiv. So vollendet sich ein Projekt von »dokumentarischer Empathie« (Florian Ebner), von dem der Fotokritiker Gerry Badger sagte, ihm gelänge es, »die Interpretation historischer Fakten in einem kreativen Akt in ein künstlerisches Werk zu verwandeln«.Ausstellung: Haus am Kleistpark, Berlin, 27.5.–21.8.2016

Pretty funny

The book gives us a more focused outlook on Chieg Wiggum. Full of its funny moments, I`d recomend this to huge Simpsons fans as it seems the shows writers managed to give us another hit.

Not the best, but not the worst either

By any means not the funniest book in the series, only the one on Krusty the Clown was more un-funny; but still a worthy addition to your collection and, just like all the others from the series providing a retrospective of anecdotes you might have forgotten.

Not that great
Huge "The Simpsons" fan. I watched all the episodes and read a lot of the comics and enjoy most. This one however was quite boring. Turns out I'm just not a big fan of Chief Wiggum. I really enjoyed The "Homer" and "Bart" book. But not this one. Maybe if you love Wiggum you'll love it. If you're not too fond of him then I wouldn't buy it.
